How do I scan barcodes into Google Sheets?
Install Scan to Google Sheets, connect a spreadsheet (pick one from Google Drive or share a private sheet with the app), choose a worksheet and start scanning. Each scan becomes a new row, with a form for any extra fields you need. The setup guide walks through both connection methods.
Does it scan QR codes as well as barcodes?
Yes. The scanner reads both barcodes and QR codes, including common formats such as EAN-13 and Code 128, and records the value in the column you choose.
Can I add quantity, location or notes to each scan?
Yes. The scan form is built from your worksheet's columns. Give each column a type (timestamp, QR / barcode, text, number or select), mark fields as required and set defaults so the form fills itself in.
Can I scan now and send later?
Yes. Scans are held in an upload queue on your phone and sent in one batch when you close the scanner, or whenever you tap Send All in your scan history. That makes it practical to capture first and send once you have a connection.
Can several people scan into the same Google Sheet?
Yes. Create a team, invite people by QR code, short code or email, and assign each person the Member or Admin role. Every member sends into the same spreadsheet. See team features.
Can I limit which sheets or tabs a teammate can send to?
Yes. For every spreadsheet you can give a member no access, access to all worksheets (including ones added later) or access to only the tabs you select, such as Stock In and Returns.
Does the app change my spreadsheet's structure?
No. Column names are read from row 1 of your worksheet and saving the app's configuration never changes your spreadsheet. To add or rename a column, edit row 1 in Google Sheets and tap Refresh columns in the app.
