A barcode scanner for Google Sheets.

Use the phone you already carry. Scan a barcode or QR code, fill in the extra fields and the row appears in your spreadsheet — no USB scanner, no CSV import, no retyping.

Why it beats typing

Stop retyping codes into a spreadsheet.

Keying barcodes in by hand is slow and every typo becomes a bad record. Dedicated hardware scanners solve the typing but tie you to a computer. Scan to Google Sheets keeps the sheet you already use and moves the scanner into your pocket.

No typos

The camera reads the code exactly as printed and writes it into the barcode column.

No desk

Count stock on the shelf, log a delivery at the dock or check people in at the door.

No import step

Rows go straight into the worksheet. There's nothing to export, convert or upload afterwards.

Setup

Connect a sheet and scan in three steps.

  1. 1

    Connect your spreadsheet

Choose a sheet from Google Drive, or point the app at a private sheet you've shared with it. The setup guide covers both methods step by step.

  2. 2

Pick a type for each column

Column names are read from row 1. Mark each one as timestamp, QR / barcode, text, number or select, set required fields and defaults. Saving never changes your spreadsheet.

  3. 3

    Scan

Point at a barcode. Add a quantity or note if your form asks for one, then send the scan — or let a batch build up and send them all at once.

Use cases

What teams scan into Google Sheets.

Inventory counts

Walk the shelves, scan each product and enter the counted quantity. A sheet with Time, Barcode, Product, Quantity and Location columns gives you a timestamped stock take you can filter and total immediately.

Retail stock checks

Check what's on the shop floor against your product list, log damaged items or build a re-order sheet by scanning shelf labels.

Attendance & check-in

Scan a badge or QR code at the door. The timestamp column records when, and one worksheet per event keeps rosters separate.

Asset tracking

Tag laptops, tools and equipment with QR codes, then scan them to log who has what and where it lives.

Field data collection

Inspections, deliveries and site visits: scan a code, complete the form, and send when you have a connection.

FAQ

Barcode scanning questions.

Do I need a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner?
No. Your phone's camera is the scanner. Open the app, point it at a barcode or QR code and the value is captured.
Can I scan into an existing Google Sheet?
Yes. Connect any spreadsheet you can open in Google Drive, or a private sheet shared with the app, then choose the worksheet to send to. Column names are read from row 1.
Which codes can it read?
The scanner reads barcodes and QR codes, including common formats such as EAN-13 and Code 128.
Can I add a quantity or a note to every scan?
Yes. After each scan a form built from your worksheet's columns lets you add quantity, location, notes and more before the row is queued.
Can I scan without an internet connection?
Scans are kept in a queue on your phone and uploaded in a batch, so you can capture first and send when you are connected.
